Hello, and welcome to the future of 2020 graphic design!
As you should well know, early 2015 saw the launch of our photography-specific website where we are able to showcase our photographers’ hard work in all it’s full-screen glory (if you haven’t seen it yet, head on over there!). If you follow us on Twitter, you may also know (if you saw our little teaser Tweet) that we’ve been working on a design-specific website in order to show off our designers’ hard work too – well it’s now finished and live!
We’ve Got You Covered
Since 2014 our design department has seen a huge increase in demand and, with the addition of a few fresh faces, has gone from strength to strength. Offering design across everything from brand identity, corporate literature, social media/web and photo manipulation (full list of services can be found here), and with the added potential of being coupled with our in-house print service, as well as our photography/product video service, we’re pretty confident that we can look after you and your business.
So what are you waiting for? Head over to our new site now!
Since the release of the first Kindle in 2007, the debate surrounding printed books and ebooks has been dividing opinions and pitting traditionalists against those who defend the practicality of e-readers. I myself belong to the somewhat sentimental group of traditionalists – I’ve spent years preciously collecting each book I’ve read, creating a personal library of fantastical stories and inspirational characters that I proudly display in my living room. The tactility of the pages and the array of diverse covers are something that cannot be replicated on an electronic device.
That being said, I can appreciate the ease of ebooks and, let’s face it, if more people are reading because of them then all the better. However, I digress. The purpose of this post is not to weigh up the pros and cons of either format (though your comments on the matter will be appreciated) but to introduce a new service we are now offering here at 2020; digital flip books!
Digital flip books are the perfect accompaniment to your printed brochure or publication (giving you the best of both worlds!), an exact on screen replica that can incorporate the interactivity of videos and links. The flip book can be embedded on your website or attached to an email, making it all the easier for your potential and existing customers to view. Professional photography is an essential tool when it comes to presenting and selling your products, either in printed matter or online. It enhances credibility and inspires consumer trust by creating a atmosphere of professionalism, building confidence in your brand. At 2020, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to showing off your product in it’s best light, and we now offer a new service to coincide with your product photography and make the most of your investment in us; Product Video.
Product Video is a great way to enable your customers to see your product in action, in a beautifully shot sequence that looks every bit as professional as your product photos. In post production, we can incorporate music and even graphics to ensure your product and message is communicated in the most effective way, giving you even more opportunity to reach your audience.

This month we say goodbye to our designer of two years, Tom, who’s wanderlust has gotten the better of him and is leading him on a two year journey half way around the world. We will of course be sad to see him go, but are also pleased to welcome our new recruit Mat, who is currently in the process of taking over Tom’s role within the 2020 studio.
In keeping with tradition, we put Mat through the rigorous (and highly scientific) Sweet, Sour, Bath, Shower questionnaire, which we developed a couple of years ago in order to gain an in-depth insight into the minds of our colleagues here at 2020. The results can be seen below…
With regards to his time at 2020, Tom had this to say:
“It’s been a wonderful two years working with the team at 2020. I feel that during that time I’ve progressed my skills significantly and seen the company grow and flourish. Thanks to Keith and the team for my time here.”
There has been a flurry of new starters at 2020 with three team members joining in the last month. Last year we devised a fun but also highly scientfic personality test “Sweet, Sour, Bath, Shower”
Rather than asking a set of tried and tested questions, we thought we would make the project a bit more graphic and ask some slightly different questions. We based the design around our brand colours and business cards. The new recruits were given a list of “Which do you prefer” questions and the coloured answer is the one they chose. See if you agree with what they went for:
Gavin has taken over as Senior Designer, with plenty of ideas and experinces gained from working as both an in-house designer and within a publishing company.
Mark joins us as our Business Relationship Manager. This is a new role within the company so we’re very excited by what he can bring to the table, to both our exsisting and prospective clients.
Harriet is joining us for three months on a placement while completing her third year in Graphic Design at the University of Hull. It’s a pleasure to have her on board and hopefully she’ll go back with a real understanding of how a professional photography and design studio operatates.
If you’d like to compare their answers to the other exsiting staff here’s a recap from last year!
Please give the studio a call on 0113 272 0277 to find out how one of our wonderful team members could help you with your Photography, Design or Print needs.
